I wish I could give NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!! The OWNER kept trying to refuse my boyfriend's service dog access to the lobby, saying no pets were allowed. His SERVICE DOG patches were clearly visible on his harness. I explained at check-in that he was a service animal and there was no issue when they charged our room. In the morning, though, it suddenly became a problem to bring him into the lobby. He is a Marine Veteran's service dog, harnessed and on leash, and I had to explain for the second time that he is a service dog. The owner kept repeating that the hotel has rules about pets. HE IS NOT A PET!!! I calmly explained Georgia ADA laws and that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires service animals to be allowed with people with disabilities in ALL PUBLIC AREAS, overriding no pets policies. Hotels must make reasonable modifications for service animals and cannot charge extra fees or DENY ACCESS in places guests can normally go, including lobbies, restaurants, and guest rooms. We will NEVER GIVE THEM OUR BUSINESS AGAIN. I hope anyone else with a service animal heeds my warning: DO NOT STAY HERE OR GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS!!!

The room was clean and the location was good, but I wouldn't stay at the Quality Inn in Clayton ga again. The bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on concrete. I'd read reviews saying it was soft and people slept well, but sitting on it made clear it wasn't comfortable. I asked for extra pillows to cushion it, and was told I'd already had five, and they couldn't give me more. The staff member said she loved staying there because it was better than her bed at home. That's great for her, but I was paying for a king room and wanted a good night's sleep. Trying to convince me it was a good bed because she liked it didn't feel like service. The location was great, but the service left a lot to be desired. If you want a comfortable night or personable service, don't stay here.

For around $100 a night, I don't think this well-kept older hotel is overpriced. You can find fancier places, but they'd cost another $30-$50 per night. It's dated in color inside and out, yet everything seemed clean and in working order. You could certainly spend less, though.

I wouldn't recommend this place, and if I could give it negative 5 stars, that would still be generous. The hotel is old, dated, and not very clean. Even with a room that has two queen beds, they charge extra if your party has three or four people. The wifi doesn't work, and nobody, including the manager or owner, seems able to address it. Leave early and they charge both an early check-out fee and occupancy for a room you're no longer using. Find another hotel if you want to avoid the headaches.

The room rate was reasonable, and we stayed in Clayton to go whitewater rafting nearby. The room itself was an okay size, but there weren't enough chairs for a married couple, and the bathroom was tiny, like the small ones in Japan. Breakfast was limited and the coffee was bad. The hotel sits beside a busy, fast road, so watch for speeding cars when leaving, and getting in from that road is difficult. Some of the design and upkeep bothered me. The bathroom light switch is outside, so turning it off after using the bathroom sends light into the room and could wake someone sleeping. The mini fridge had water inside and wasn't cold enough on our first day. We reported it and they fixed it the next day, but I expected everything to work from day one. Maid service was okay, though one day they took our used towels and left no clean ones, and didn't do any other cleaning. We had to report it.
