Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown

The location worked well for a concert and other downtown events, but the stay as a whole was disappointing. The hotel didn't feel very welcoming, and the rooms seemed quite dated compared with other Hilton Garden Inns I've stayed at. It does the job location-wise, but the property could use some updates.

The hotel’s location is handy, right across from the stadium and near downtown, but coming back from that lively city to a room that felt so worn out was a jolt. The dim light, stale air, tired furniture, dusty corners, and shabby carpet all gave the place a neglected feel. Even the bathroom fixtures looked dull. The HVAC was the worst part. It rattled awake every few minutes, then swung between freezing air and warm, damp air. I couldn’t get the room to hold a steady temperature, and I spent much of the night listening to it clatter instead of sleeping. The room never felt comfortable, and I was mostly waiting for morning. I left feeling worn down, not rested. A night away shouldn’t take this much recovering from.

We walked to Huntington Bank Field, the Rock N Roll Hall of fame, and several restaurants, so the location worked really well. Parking behind the building was convenient and priced about as expected, and the hotel felt secure. Our family suite had two queens and a pull-out, a practical layout for the price. The room was comfortable, the staff were professional, and the pool was pretty nice. Breakfast was very good too. Paying the breakfast rate when I booked was worth it.

The city-facing room had a great view, and we found the rooms really clean with plenty of accommodations. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We came to Cleveland for a few museums and were glad we picked Hilton Garden. We’ll keep staying here when we come back.
