Americas Best Value Inn Clinton

The room charges turned into a mess. They took my card at check-in to keep on file, then charged $55 that day without telling me or giving me a receipt. At checkout they charged another $137 for the stay. Both showed up on my statement. I called the hotel repeatedly, but only got the answering machine, and nobody had called back after 10 days. Corporate is supposedly looking into it now. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The stay itself was rough too. The restaurant was closed, which hadn't been disclosed when I booked, and the indoor party area was overheated and a mess. The beds were hard as a wood floor, with no give. Breakfast was a joke: white bread, juice, milk, two kinds of dry cereal, fruit that wasn't very fresh, and a waffle iron that worked maybe one time in four.
