The bathroom was clean and had good hot water, and the bed and sheets felt clean and soft. But we barely slept because the baseboard radiator clattered all night, with clicks, bangs, and rattles, like someone in the walls rehearsing for Stomp. The room itself was clean aside from the microwave. Hopefully the noise was limited to our room, #15, and not the whole motel.

After 22 years in the UK, I was moving back to the USA and making a six-week road trip. My friend and I got a warm welcome, and they even offered us a larger suite-style room. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good beds, and we both had room to work. It was within walking distance of the beach where I learned to swim as a child. After driving past Clinton Motel for years in my own hometown, it was lovely to come home to such a quiet, peaceful place. We spent three restful days there, and I really appreciated it. The room was roomy, spotless, and had updated furniture. It’s a really cute place in Clinton, and I appreciated having an extra power strip for charging my devices.

The room was in such good shape, from the new carpet to the furnishings, and it was exceptionally well cared for. You can even open the windows, which have mosquito screens. There’s no gym, pool, or breakfast, but I don’t need those extras. It could probably hold its own against most four-star motels. Nothing to complain about, the owners did a perfect job.

We slept really well for both nights, and the room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and helpful, and nothing seemed like a hassle. We’ll make a beeline for The Clinton Motel every time we visit Clinton now. Thanks, and see you again! Kate & Maria.
