Super 8 Clinton

The price is hard to beat, and our room was nice and very clean, with no carpet to get grimy. The hall carpets were old and dirty, though, and the hallway smelled strongly of weed. We weren't sleeping out there, at least.

I stayed four nights and thought the place was decent for what I paid. When I went to check in for night five, they refused to let me stay, saying the housekeepers had found clumps of dog hair in my beds and accusing me of sneaking a dog in overnight. I don't even have a goldfish, let alone a dog, and my room was spotless whenever I left for the day. If they thought I was bringing a dog in, why didn't anyone say something? Where was the clerk while this supposedly happened? The whole thing feels fishy, and I was turned away for no reason. Something isn't right, and I intend to do something about it.

The staff were great, but the room was a different story. We asked for a nonsmoking room with two beds and got one that smelled like smoke, with an ashtray on the table. The inside security lock was broken, one bed had a broken slat so we had to sleep in a V shape, and the other tipped up if you sat on the end. There was someone else's dirty food plate in the nightstand, and the floor clearly hadn't been swept in a while.

We left after only a few minutes and asked for refunds on all three rooms. We found roaches and bedbugs on every bed, and the mattresses had huge blood stains. The worker argued with us about returning the money. We went to Hampton Inn up the road instead, which was much nicer and clean. Don't waste your money here. No stars.
