Wapiti Mountain Cabins

We spent a week there with our dogs and had a great time. The cabin had everything we needed to cook, including a washer and dryer, dishwasher, stove, microwave, and fridge. There's no A/C, but even on a 90-degree day, a good breeze usually keeps things cool with the windows open. It gets quite chilly at night, even in July and August. A small gas station below the cabin has basic supplies, but otherwise you'll need to shop in Cody or bring things with you. The views are beautiful, and the place is just outside Yellowstone and Cody. It's pet friendly, and we never saw any rats or had any sign of them from our dogs. The complaint about rats and such doesn't match our experience. The cabin rules are simple and clear, and you only lose your deposit if you don't follow them. Finding the cabins was no problem with Google Maps. We had a mix-up about which cabin we were assigned, but called Rayna and got it sorted out. She lives right by the cabins and was very nice. We'd definitely recommend staying here and plan to return.

We couldn't find the place easily. There was no roadside sign and no cell service nearby, so we drove five miles past it before getting enough signal to locate it. There are three cabins, each with a chalkboard naming its guests, but none showed our name. No cars were around. We didn't feel safe entering a cabin marked for someone else, and got no answer when we tried the video doorbells. There was no other way to contact the owner. The owner took our payment a full month before our stay, though the stated policy said it would be charged at the time of the stay. She has kept all of it. I think she must be hard up for good people's money. DO NOT STAY HERE. I've also heard from others that the cabins have rats. Read ALL the reviews.

The view is breathtaking, and the place is beautiful, very clean, and fully stocked. Everything we needed was there. By far the best vacation spot if you're visiting Yellowstone!

We had a wonderful vacation. The views were stunning, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked for making meals, and having a washer and dryer for our clothes was great.
