Red Roof Inn Washington, DC - College Park

There was noise all night from people working on their vehicles and revving engines in the parking lot, plus constant yelling and other sounds that kept me awake. The shower was only lukewarm, so don’t expect hot water. The breakfast bar was mediocre, with bread, a few muffins, coffee, and orange and apple juice. I’d plan to eat elsewhere next time. The employee at check-in wasn’t welcoming and acted like we were trying to pull something by using vouchers. The room was typical, nothing special, which was fine since we only needed a place to sleep. It was mostly clean. Would I stay again? No. Did it meet my needs? Yes.

I only gave it one star because zero wasn’t an option. The room smelled strongly and unpleasantly of smoke, even though I’d booked a non-smoking room. When I went back to the desk, the receptionist insisted it was non-smoking, which it clearly wasn’t. The odor spray I asked for did nothing, and there wasn’t another room available. The carpet and bathroom looked awful, and the staff were rude. I regret booking here and won’t stay at Red Roof again. If you’re a non-smoker, I’d avoid it. 😩 was

Nichole made a tough stay work for us. There were several unexpected things happening, and after earlier problems before the trip, I almost wouldn’t have come back if my visit hadn’t been cut short. The room had a bad cigarette smell, but she moved us quickly and without a fuss. She also kept helping our entertainment crew, going up and down the stairs, showing us the ice machine, and taking care of other needs. She must have been tired, but she stayed kind and made sure we had what we needed. I’m really pleased with Red Roof because of employees like her. Thanks again, Nichole, hun. Hope you see this!

We were booked for two days, but a family medical issue meant we needed to add another night. Our reserved room wasn’t available, and the staff helped arrange a different one without any trouble. Everyone we dealt with was polite, and I’m thankful for their help. A pleasant tone and a smile go a long way. Debbie and James.
