Super 8 by Wyndham Winchester VA

After using the restroom, we saw dozens of cockroaches on the beds and other surfaces. The bathroom was dirty, the carpet hadn’t been swept, and the fridge was sticky. We told the front desk we were leaving and wanted a refund. They didn’t seem surprised, but didn’t give us a hard time. As we returned to the car, three Shariff cars pulled into the lot. A total waste of time, and the worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

The only good thing was how close it is to I-81. I’d been driving all day and overlooked the dirty room and toothpaste splatter on the bathroom mirror. But at 3:36 AM I turned on the bathroom light and saw two cockroaches on the sink. One ran under the sink, the other disappeared through a hole in the wall below the mirror. I packed up right away, then found another roach in the lid of my dog’s food box. It ran under the bed when I dropped the lid. I was in my car and on my way before 4:00 AM. After I reached my destination, I reported it to Wyndam Customer Care Concern. The woman I spoke with was professional and told me to contact the General Manager at Super 8 Winchester. I explained what happened and requested a full refund. The GM said I should have come to the desk for another room, at 3:36 AM. The room was filthy and had cockroaches, and they won’t issue a refund. Stay away and go somewhere else.

The price was cheap, sure, but it wasn’t worth it. Food and trash were left in the room, with no trash cans, and the mini fridge had food packed inside. There were cigarette butts and more trash in the hall. I wasn’t looking for roaches, but they were all over spilled food. Every wall had a bunch of stains, and the sheets, blankets, and comforters were stained and burned with cigarettes. Most of the fixtures were broken or in disrepair. I tried to be understanding because of the cost, but I had to say something.

French fries were on the floor, and roaches were in every room. None of them seemed clean. After we complained, the receptionist was nasty, disrespectful, and rude. They moved us to another room with even more roaches, then she insulted us verbally. She has no manners. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
