Homewood Suites by Hilton College Station

The rooms have an older, dated interior, and we had no hot water on the last day. Support was limited. The desk clerk was on her first shift, and her trainer left about 30-45 minutes early, leaving her on her own. The TV remote didn't work either. I had to call on two different days before someone replaced it.

Mold-sensitive guests should be careful. We tried three rooms during our two-night stay, and the mold was appalling. The rooms smelled damp or musty, though the common areas on the ground floor seemed fine. We saw badly moldy HVAC ducts and window sills, plus a speckled bathroom ceiling (see pics). The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the operators or owners need to address this. Painting over mold only hides it; mycotoxins can still come through the paint. Could the source be the central hotel HVAC?

We were in town for a vet appointment at Texas A&M and booked a couple of nights. There's lots of space around the hotel to walk my Belgian Malinois, and everyone was sweet to him and treated him well. The service was outstanding. I'm kosher, and the kitchen staff member went above and beyond to meet my needs. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I'll be back in six months and plan to stay here again.

They mixed me up with another guest because we had the same last name, then called to accuse me of checking out late even though I'd left before noon. I don't understand how that kind of mistake happens. Staff need to be careful and professional enough to keep guests straight. The way they treated me during the situation was disrespectful and made an unpleasant stay even worse. I won't return.
