Hampton Inn Columbia-Downtown Historic District

Shaunie at the front desk made us feel so well looked after. She took time to suggest nearby restaurants when my friends and I were trying to decide where to eat, and she was patient and kind about it. She also checked several times that our rooms were okay and clearly wanted us to have five-star service. I appreciated all the attention, and when I visit Columbia again, this is the only location I plan to stay at.

The breakfast bar was spotless and packed with choices, and we found a great dinner within walking distance. We took a $5 Uber to a concert afterward, which let us enjoy a few extra drinks. The room was spacious and clean, smelled great, and had a super comfortable bed. We were in town for our anniversary, and Rick and the rest of the excellent staff went out of their way to make it special. Parking was great too. We’ll definitely make this our go-to for a night out.

After a long day of travel, it was a relief to be welcomed so warmly by Shauncie. At check-in she recognized our Diamond status, let us choose snacks and drinks, and made sure we had enough water for bottles for our 8-month-old. We had a play pen with us too, and she arranged for extra bedding to be brought up. Brad was also friendly and helpful, and the whole staff treated us wonderfully throughout the stay. We don’t get to South Carolina often, but we’d stay here again if we return. Highly recommend, and thanks to the team!

Stephen and his whole team are old-school supporters of the people who protect our community, and I’m thankful for that. During the recent government shutdown, many of our employees had gone months without pay, and Stephen’s decision to hire us helped several veterans and firefighters earn extra money for their families. The hotel is incredibly clean, the staff is eager to provide a great experience, and it’s right among restaurants and nightlife.
