Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Jackson

The manager complimented my moustache a couple of times, which made me happy. The staff were friendly and helpful when I was in a tricky spot, and the room, service, and location were just what I expected. It's a clean, comfortable place at a standard price, convenient for an overnight stop while driving through Columbia, with food and shopping nearby. I'd recommend it. A good time all around.

Mr. Patel was kind and professional when I arrived, and even welcomed the little chat I started. It felt like the staff cared about guests, not just their money. My room was clean, quiet, and smelled lovely. The beds were neat and comfortable, the floor was free of dust and dirt, and I didn't see bugs. The microwave, sink, fridge, bathtub, and toilet were spotless, which matters a lot to me when choosing a hotel. The only complication was my dogs. I hadn't seen the “NO PETS” sign and thought Mr. Patel had noticed me walking my dog, but he hadn't. When he realized I had my fur babies, he understandably asked me to check out because he has to consider the next guests. I was scared since I couldn't switch hotels and had already paid for another night after such a pleasant first one. After I explained the situation, he let me stay for a very fair fee. He didn't have to offer that, and I'm grateful for his generosity and compassion. I've worked as a housekeeper, so I know how cruel and disrespectful some guests can be to hotel staff. That's why I took the time to write about my experience with Mr. Patel and the staff at Rodeway Inn & Suites. I'd recommend it to anyone. If not for my dogs, I'd stay again. The rooms were decent, though I spotted a few bugs. We stayed four nights, and checkout was at 11 am. At a little after 10, while we were packing, the man came to the door to say it was checkout time. He came back again at 11 and repeated it, then was ready to argue with guests. We were paying $90 a night, and that kind of rushing and disrespect wasn't needed. In my opinion, it's no way to run a family-oriented business. I'll never stay there again.

Quick, responsive service, and a quiet spot. Great restaurants and a grocery store are an easy walk away.
