Hampton Inn Columbus-North

There are several restaurants nearby, which is convenient. My room was roomy, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Check-in was a little slow, but the woman was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was disappointing, with few choices and no half-and-half for the coffee. It was still a good visit, and I’d stay here again.

I sometimes hold meetings in the lobby, which works well until the warm cookies come out in the afternoon and distract me. I don’t eat breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. The rooms are modern, I like the glass showers, and the internet is stable enough for Zoom meetings, so I can leave my hotspot in my bag. One elevator took longer than it should to repair a while back, and for a few trips I had to wait a few minutes each time, but it’s been fixed for a while now. The front desk team were welcoming from my first visit, and they’re still just as nice after more than a dozen work trips, even when I arrive after a long day. I started coming to Columbus regularly during the week last summer, looking for a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced room where I could become a regular. A few other places were neither bad nor great. Hampton North was a welcome change. I’d recommend it whether you’re passing through once or coming regularly.

The hotel looked like it had been renovated recently, but housekeeping isn’t keeping it clean or in good shape. I stayed three nights, and the room smelled like a wet dog had been in it. The floor by the kitchen was dirty and slippery, and there was hair all over the bed. The toilet was disgusting, with urine behind the cover and on the base. Beer bottles had been left under the kitchen sink, and the little fridge smelled like rotten food.

A few weeks ago I requested a room with two queen beds. The beds were great, but the toilet was so low I could hardly stand up from it, and there were no rails. That bathroom did have a walk-in shower. This week I requested an accessible room for a higher toilet. It had one, but instead there was a bathtub with a shower head that was hard to figure out. The beds were so low to the floor it was hard to get up from them. Neither visit worked out for me. They need to make some changes. I stayed at Northside Hampton Inn Columbus Ga.
