We stayed from November 21 to December 14 and kept extending because at first things seemed fine. The room was clean when we arrived, and Savannah at check-in was outstanding. She made the place sound so good that I was ready to buy a home there. My son had doubts at first, but he came around, too. We earned points as we went and left five-star reviews daily. The problems came despite us keeping the room on Do Not Disturb. Staff entered without our consent, including once when we returned to find it cleaned. We liked the hotel and didn’t complain then. We had only brief interactions with staff, usually for keys or coffee, and I didn’t think we were causing any trouble. Management later accused us of staining sheets more than once. Veronica took my payments and never mentioned the complaint. I always paid before checkout, sometimes extending early, and I never owed anything. A few times they charged my card automatically without telling me, saying the GM was in the system doing it. On December 13-14, as we were extending for the last time, a clerk read us a note from the manager saying we had stained the sheets more than once and would have to check out if it happened again. We knew of one incident, which we hadn’t acknowledged at the time. We also rarely saw the sheets changed, and the same stains were still there when we left. I think they were washing and reusing the same sheets. I now realize a pen had burst in my pocket, and we photographed the stains when we left. I asked for a refund right after paying, but the clerk said housekeeping had already gone for the day. The woman who drives the gold Camry read the note and seemed apologetic, but I’d overheard her talking with Veronica and felt they had bad motives. I wanted to leave immediately, but since they wouldn’t refund us, we said we’d stay through checkout at 11 the next morning and then never return. They said we could keep staying, but we left because we didn’t like the accusation. That morning we went to breakfast with family while still checked in and kept the Do Not Disturb sign up. We returned around 9:30 or 9:50 to shower, but the cleaning staff had gone through the room. I asked them to let us back in, then we checked out at 10 because of what happened. After this blacklist, we nearly couldn’t find another hotel. Take pictures.

The front desk staff were lovely. The check-in associate, a red-haired woman whose name I can’t recall, was pleasant and personable, and Gracie was just as nice when I checked out. I didn’t meet housekeeping, but the room made it clear they do a great job. I travel for work and stay in plenty of hotels, but this one outshone the other Choice Hotels I’ve visited. I was impressed as soon as I walked into the spotless room. The owner clearly takes pride in the property and seems to listen to guest feedback. The flat pillows people had mentioned are now thick, and my feet didn’t hang off the bed. There wasn’t coffee in the room, which caught me by surprise, but I called the desk and they sorted it out. The tub had a non-slip mat, and the wall-mounted Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled great.

Everything looked just right, not a speck of dirt anywhere. The beds were made and the room was clean. The mattresses felt quite firm, while the pillows were very soft. A really nice stay.

Brook was so friendly and helpful. The rooms, grounds, and pool were all clean, and I’ve had a wonderful experience both times I’ve stayed here. I’ll choose this place whenever I’m in town.
