Days Inn Concord

The owners make the place feel like a family, not just a business. They take time to talk with guests, and the owner and his wife are kind, respectful, and friendly. I’m a returning customer, and my two kids loved staying here too. We enjoyed the waffles at breakfast and vanilla latte in the morning. We’ll be back during summer break.

The room and bedding had a terrible odor that seemed deeply embedded. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but the online pre-check-in link didn’t save me from filling out the same paperwork at arrival, and they gave us only one key card. The location also felt odd and unsafe to me. The hotel is next to an apartment complex where children live, and guests have to drive through its driveway to leave the property. I didn’t feel comfortable with that.

There was hair and staining on the sheets, snot on them too, and the drawers were really gross. The price wasn’t worth it. Maybe I’m high class, but this just wasn’t a good hotel. The hot tub was broken, so there was nothing to do there.

I booked through the Wyndham app, and my reservation was canceled before the cancellation deadline. That made for one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. It feels like the property may be canceling third-party or app bookings to avoid commission fees, then trying to turn them into direct bookings while blaming the system. Wyndham as a brand wouldn’t randomly cancel confirmed reservations, so this seems like a property-level issue and a very unprofessional way to treat guests. I hope Wyndham investigates it seriously. It’s frustrating for customers and reflects badly on the brand.
