Sleep Inn & Suites at Concord Mills

We were in town for a funeral, and with family grieving, the stay made an already hard visit worse. I couldn’t rest, and I’d never recommend this hotel. At check-in, the receptionist’s attitude was terrible. Most of the staff seemed nasty, though the African-American woman was okay. She seemed to be going through the motions, just there for a paycheck. The petite Caucasian woman with the Bob haircut and glasses was the worst. Our room wasn’t cleaned. I watched housekeeping open the door, wait for us to leave, then shut it. We came back ten minutes later and nothing had changed. The toilet paper was still unflushed. I told the front desk, and the person there was pleasant, but didn’t send anyone or make a note in the maintenance log. Hours later, after I’d been with family all day, she said there was no record and nothing written down. Nobody was available to fix it, so the best she could offer was another room. That room was terrible too. I paid to be met with bad attitudes and people not doing their jobs. Never again.

The rooms are decent and have what you need on a trip, including an in-room coffee maker and a blow dryer, though they’re nothing fancy. The problem is that some rooms allow smoking, so you can smell it as you walk through the hallways. Since smoke rises, management should consider keeping smoking rooms on the top floor, which might spare nonsmokers who are bothered by the smell.

At Sleep Inn & Suites at Concord Mills, there were stink bugs in the room and a blood stain on the toilet wall. That’s a serious hygiene problem and completely unacceptable. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum, and this place failed badly. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe, and reporting it didn’t undo the experience or save the stay. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they properly address the pests and cleanliness. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

Common areas at Sleep Inn & Suites at Concord Mills looked neglected, and the room didn’t seem properly cleaned. The property was clearly unkempt, with visible wear and maintenance issues that made the stay uncomfortable. It didn’t meet even basic expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it and will look elsewhere next time.
