Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort

We keep our RV at Thousand Trails. The grounds are so pretty and very clean, the office staff are wonderful, and we enjoy all the amenities.

The staff really try to make guests happy. Susan at the front office is helpful whenever I need something, and the rangers have been great too. The park and pool are clean. My main trouble was with some uneven sites. My auto-leveling system got confused, so I had to level the RV by hand, and the slope also kept the black and gray tanks from draining fully. I had to walk the hoses to clear the wastewater left in them. Those sites need leveling and concrete or gravel pads. Some roads are in rough shape as well, with rain erosion visible. Even with those issues, the staff go out of their way for customers.

The roads are awful, the trees need trimming, the pool isn't heated, and the hot tub is often closed because it's broken. The mini golf clubs and balls have disappeared, too. On our last visit, our power went out. Maintenance told me to move, and said they wouldn't call a certified electrician until six power pedestals were broken. I'd counted eight while walking the dog, but that didn't seem to matter. They also said the city requires certified workers for repairs. The laundry room was shut since it had no power, and they said they couldn't figure out the problem. We canceled the rest of our reservation and left for another campground.

The staff were really friendly, and I was happy with the site we got. It actually looked out on something other than rows of RVs. There are plenty of things to do, like swimming, fishing, putt-putt golf, billiards, and tennis. If I had a boat, launching it here would be perfect. They also have cabins for rent. This was my first stay at a TT park.
