I booked by phone last Saturday night and arrived on time, only to find I hadn’t booked a downstairs room in the back. They offered me an upstairs room in the front, which I couldn’t and didn’t use, but still billed me $93 for it. The desk staff were pleasant and suggested I’d booked through a third-party vendor, so there was nothing they could do. The property allows pets for a fee.

Management wanted a few sentences for my review, so here they are. There was no running water until 10 p.m. I found several hairs in the bed and food crumbs that hadn’t been cleaned up. Cockroaches were in the bathroom and under the bed. The place was absolutely horrid from the moment I arrived, so I left promptly and found better accommodations.

The woman who helped with my booking was nice and tried her best to make me happy, though the process was slow because the internet apparently doesn’t work very well. I paid $72 for the room, but I think it’s worth $40 at best. Both beds had stained sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, plus holes and leftover hair. They’re visibly sunk in and worn out. The shower was chipped in several spots and looked filthy, and the sink drained very slowly. I used ChatGPT and Grok AI to find hotels with a pool, and this one came up as having one. It doesn’t. The pool has been shut down for four years, so don’t trust AI with details like that. I suppose this is a two-star hotel. If you want somewhere decent, I’d go elsewhere. If you need something cheap under a hundred bucks and can’t find anything else, here you go.

After the front desk lady was VERY hateful when I asked for a partial refund, saying it wasn’t her problem and she wasn’t going to do anything, I decided to stay somewhere else for the next few days. I got a much better experience. Spend the extra $20 or so and go elsewhere. I’d come here because I was displaced by a winter storm. The guy who checked me in was nice, but things went downhill after that. They said there was wifi, but there wasn’t, so I had to use my hotspot for work. Only two lights worked in the room, one in the bathroom and one by the bed. It smelled awful, there was hair in both beds, and the water was shut off without warning. I asked for a partial refund because of the inconvenience.

Our dog was welcome at no extra charge, which was what drew us here and made us very happy. We stayed one night. The room was clean and adequate, though there may have been sand under the flooring, because every step crackled.
