Cobblescote on the Lake

It’s only five minutes from Cooperstown, though the peaceful setting makes it feel a hundred miles away. We loved the views, the rooms, and the breakfast served every morning. This family-run place was warm and welcoming, and the hosts answered all our questions about the area and the B&B. There’s a private water access area with chairs where you can take in the view. We’d recommend making use of the free kayaks and canoes, too. We had full days of activities and were glad to have them.

For my birthday weekend with the family, we stayed in the Deck Suite. It had two beds, a small kitchen and a bathroom, plus lots of board games. The views were beautiful, and they accommodated my son’s dairy and egg allergy with a breakfast sandwich. The water had a bit of a sulfur smell, but I still enjoyed the stay. I’d come back in summer to use the free kayaks.

My husband and I stayed in a private cabin between our son’s Dreamspark baseball games. It was charming, unique, and larger than I expected, with a gorgeous panoramic lake view, a full fridge, and a microwave. The drive to the park took about 15-20 minutes and was beautiful along the lake. The place was clean and homey, the women who run it were so kind, and breakfast was the best homemade breakfast you could imagine. They made something different each morning using local food, and the cracked wheat bread was delicious.

It was our first time in Cooperstown, and Cobblescote made us feel right at home. Our son was playing at Dreams park, just 15 minutes away.
