SureStay Plus HT by Best Western Coralville Iowa C

The staff were friendly, but I still wouldn’t recommend this motel or come back. I stayed two days, and the room was decent, but all the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles were empty. The TV had channels, though the guide always said there was no information, so I had to check them one by one to see what was on.

We paid $350 a night during Parents Weekend at the University of Iowa and got no help from the staff. The front desk said the manager would follow up about a discount, but nobody ever contacted us despite multiple calls and emails. Our non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarettes. The bathroom was dirty, with hair on the shower walls and mold in the caulking, and the toilet seat was broken. Fixtures were coming off the walls, and the mini fridge didn’t work, so we had to keep my son’s medication on ice. A terrible stay at the SureStay Hotel in Coralville. Completely unacceptable, avoid it.

Rose, the weekend receptionist, was the kindest person we met and made us feel welcome. Our room stayed tidy and cozy during the two days we were there.

It was a little hard to find the place tucked behind Casey's, but once you find Casey's, you’ve found it. We thought it was a nice stay for a reasonable price, and the waffle batter could just be thicker. The quoted price was $68.00, but $128.35 came off my card. The night clerk, Cash, gave me attitude when I called, claiming she hadn’t checked us in, though she had. I called in the morning and spoke with Matthew, who sorted it out respectfully and professionally in about 30 seconds. That was a far cry from the previous night’s attitude. We enjoyed the place until the nastiness from Cash. Prices are reasonable, and I’d stay here, but avoid the night clerk if you don’t want that attitude.
