Springhill Suites Corpus Christi

The breakfast was good for a three star hotel, and the person preparing it each day worked hard to accommodate guests. The waitstaff were friendly too. The indoor pool is heated. The exercise room is small, with free weights, two ellipticals, and two treadmills. Both treadmill treads had tears in them. I let the front desk know that the TV remote in my room wasn’t working.

The room was clean, the staff were really friendly, and breakfast was decent. I also liked that the area felt safe and that shops and restaurants were close by. The location was convenient, and I’ll stay here again.

We used points for the stay, so I didn’t feel bad about it. Without them, I think it would’ve been around $300, and I might’ve been more annoyed. The breakfast was okay, with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, and pastries. Enough to eat, but nothing special. We didn’t have time to use the pool. The room was nice, but the “sofa bed” was really a twin mattress underneath the sofa, not a full pullout couch. My kids had to share one blanket while sleeping on different levels, one on the sofa top and one on the mattress on the floor. I asked the front desk for another blanket, but they were out. The guy was nice and gave me two flat sheets, though that was kind of annoying.

The bed was way too hard, my one complaint. Everything else was a positive experience. I’m Gen X, and I haven’t been treated this well at a hotel in my life. The check-in, breakfast, and housekeeping staff were superb, and the room and amenities were good too. All five of us ate well at breakfast. The kids loved the Texas-shaped waffles, the oatmeal bar was superb, and there was hot food every day. The hotel is 15 minutes from everything and easy to get to. Two thumbs up for the staff. I couldn’t be more impressed.
