Days Inn by Wyndham Crystal River

The staff were friendly and had helpful suggestions whenever we asked what to do nearby. Our room was very clean, and even though it was beside the ice machine, we never heard a commotion. We also liked being able to reach the connected Denny's without going outside. There was a bar with a pool table too. We’ll definitely be back.

The price was misleading. The usual rates online looked reasonable, but they jumped when it was time to pay, apparently because people come to see the manatees. There weren’t any other reasonably priced rooms available, so we stayed, though we were really only there to sleep and had to tough it out. The musty room needed updating and a deep clean. The shower was especially gross, with grout that was originally white but black from dirt and mold. There was no exhaust fan, and the air purifier type machine didn’t help much. The air conditioner made a strange noise all night. I wore flip-flops in the shower and even when I got up in the night because I didn’t want my bare feet on the floor. The woman next door seemed to live there, and they must have had a party. It got a little loud. The manatees, parks for hiking, restaurants, and shopping were all great. Still, I’ll be glad to get home and wouldn’t recommend staying here. I hope the owners put money into the place, because it could be a lot nicer.

There’s a pub and Denny's attached for food and drinks, and the hotel is just outside town. Our room was clean, and the motel had recently been painted. Parking was well lit, and it was an easy drive into town for manatee tours. Good value, with a friendly desk agent.

Wyndam came through again when I needed a room at the last minute. The courtyard was quiet, the bed was firm, and everything was clean and stress-free. There was hot water too. After my car accident, this is my first time back in the area in 2yrs, and now I’m ready for the weekend.
