Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cumberland

We chose this location for easy access to the Western MD Scenic Railroad, which was the reason for our trip. The hotel felt safe, our room and the pool were clean, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. The hot tub was closed during our visit. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, not especially delicious but fine. The traffic pattern is a little weird, but otherwise we had a great stay.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Fairfield by Marriott in Cumberland, MD. The rainy weather was beyond the hotel staff’s control, but they served us professionally and courteously. Highly recommend.

I stayed here for Delfest and had a phenomenal experience. The staff are great. Please say hello to the evening guy and overnight girl, they’re friendly and great to talk with. Tonight I felt for the young woman at the front desk. She was handling calls, guest requests, payments, and a rude couple yelling because the beer was locked up. I stayed nearby to check she was okay and offered her a tip after they left, but she declined. She stayed calm and polite through all of it, better than I could have managed. Someone should pat her on the back and tell her she’s doing a good job. I travel all along the East Coast as a cosplayer who does rent-a-date events with [character]. You’ve made me a customer for life.

We especially love staying here at Christmas for the Polar Express. You can walk to the train, there’s a brewery right next door, and the hotel has good breakfast and a warm pool. The little extras, like the hot cocoa station, make it the best Fairfield we’ve stayed at. Highly recommend!
