We chose this place for two nights in June 2024 despite seeing a few questionable reviews, and my family and I were very pleased. The room was roomy and clean, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning was almost too strong. Everyone we dealt with, including the front desk staff and cleaners, was friendly and focused on helping guests. The bathtub had some bad scratches, and breakfast was basic cereal, coffee, and bars, but the low price made those small drawbacks easy to accept. Most nearby hotels cost 50-100% more. The service and staff at Super 8 were great, so I’ll definitely return and highly recommend this hotel. It was also nice meeting some Appalachian Trail hikers, since the trail passes very close by.

The breakfast was minimal and the pillows could use improvement, so I’d give it four stars. Still, the room was a good size, and it was really quiet during my stay. And the water pressure was the best I’ve ever had. Seriously, that shower was off the charts. Great place, I’ll be back.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times the room was plenty clean and the front desk clerk was welcoming and helpful with information. For the price, it’s a solid motel and good value. You do hear the usual motel noise, with thin walls and heavy traffic nearby, but earplugs or a white noise app can cover it. I’d gladly stay again.

The staff were friendly, and there are several gas stations and restaurants nearby. It’s about a quarter mile from the highway. The fridge and freezer worked well, though they looked like they’d never been cleaned. I paid for the cheapest room around, and it showed. There’s no elevator in the two-story hotel, so you have to carry everything upstairs. My non-smoking room smelled like pot. There was hair in the sheets, which were paper-thin, and the mattress was hard as a rock. The shower had hair, soap scum, and mold, and the toilet looked like it had never been scrubbed. You get what you pay for.

The breakfast is grab-and-go, just a few granola bars and muffins, so don’t expect anything hearty. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and free toiletries. It looked a little run down, but it was clean, which is what matters. The place was affordable and quiet, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again.
