The hotel’s condition was disappointing throughout my six-day stay. I noticed vomit in the hallway on day two, and it was still there when I checked out. There was broken glass in the parking lot, too. Elevator #2 clanged, shook, and felt unsafe, and its inspection certificate looked altered to me. The heating needed constant adjustment to keep the room comfortable. Breakfast was complimentary, but the choices were limited, unappealing, and poorly maintained, well below what I’d expect even at a budget hotel. The incident that really unsettled me happened on the second day. I was gathering my things in the car after pulling into the lot when a security guard approached and cornered me, demanding proof I was a guest. I’d only just arrived and hadn’t even left my vehicle. I felt singled out and unsafe. I reported it at the front desk, but nothing was done. I described it again in a text survey the next morning and heard nothing until I followed up a day later. The manager’s response came only after that and felt inadequate. When I spoke to the manager in person on my departure morning, I was basically told there was no reason to contact me, even though I was the one affected. There were some kind people, including Amy and the night front desk associate, who was helpful. They couldn’t make up for the rest of the experience. I’ve worked as a flight attendant and stayed in more hotels than most, so I know what good service looks like. On arrival, things seemed fine, but this property fell short of basic standards. As a manager myself, I believe the team reflects its leadership, and this should have been handled promptly and professionally. I’ll share my experience with my employer because I don’t think this level of service merits continued business. At best, it was a two-star stay, and I’d recommend staying elsewhere.
My room was clean and comfortable, and I’d gladly stay here again. Check-in on my phone gave me trouble, but Taneshia at the desk patiently helped me through the app and made the process easy. She recognized me as a Hilton member and made sure we got our waters, which doesn’t always happen. I’d recommend this place.
Taneshia is the reason I still feel good about staying here. She’s professional, helpful, and always seems to have a solution. I feel comfortable whenever she’s at the front desk. The location also works well for me, with restaurants and stores nearby, about ten minutes from downtown and very close to my job. My husband and I are Hilton Diamond members and spend thousands at Hilton properties around the country, but service here has been poor. Last night I asked Sydney for a bottle of water because I felt sick. She rudely refused, saying she’d already given me complimentary water the other day. I explained I’d made a new reservation and hadn’t received water this time, but she still wouldn’t give me one. I make multiple reservations during the week. She also told me to leave if I didn’t like it, though I’d booked four nights and was only on my second. Check-in is also difficult when Sydney is working. I asked her for room service because I’d been staying in the same room and needed fresh towels and sheets. She asked when I’d be out, and I said I wouldn’t return until 4 in the evening. When I got back after a long workday, the room was still dirty. I had to ask someone on the evening shift for clean linens and towels so I could make the bed and shower. It seems to become a problem whenever I request something from her.
I’ve been coming here for more than eight years and haven’t had an incident. I’m from Dallas and find the daytime location great, though other people consider the area threatening. The rooms are spacious and clean, and both breakfast and coffee are good. Most of the staff are cheerful and welcoming. When the Grand Prairie base lost power, I stayed here and they made us feel welcome and supported in the lobby. It’s a regular hotel for me.
We booked a room for Halloween weekend for four of us, and I’d book again. Parking was free and roomy, and the best thing was how convenient the location is: you can walk to food without crossing a street, and other restaurants across the street aren’t far either. The front desk staff were nice, and breakfast was good. The room was decent, though water pressure was low and the trash cans were small.
