Sheraton Suites Market Center Dallas

We had a spacious, comfortable room with a balcony and a good bed. The lobby and dining area looked great, and parking was good too. The service desk team were excellent and very polite. We especially liked one attendant, I think his name was Andrew or Antonio. He looked like a Teddy Bear, was super friendly, and knew a lot about the Dallas area. We'd come back for another overnight stay.

The staff were nice, and the restaurant food was good. Our room had a separate seating area and plenty of space, with a comfortable king bed. The bathroom was big, and the shower had good pressure. The furniture looked a bit worn, and cleanliness wasn't quite up to what we hoped for. I found a large hair inside the lid of an “unused” coffee cup. The coffee maker wasn't clean either, with lots of dust and little bits of debris in the water reservoir.

The location wasn't for me. It's on a corner right off the highway, with nowhere nearby to walk around. The hotel staff were nice, and when my A/C stopped working, maintenance fixed it very promptly. I also found a Mexican restaurant only a 5-7 minute drive away, and the food there was fantastic. The house margaritas were weak and not very good, so I'd suggest ordering one made from scratch. I bought a shot of Grand Marnier to improve mine, and the pours were quite generous. You can see the restaurant on my profile.

The hotel itself was nice and clean, but dealing with the staff was a nightmare. I stayed the night of December 28 and checked out on the 29th. At check-in, the desk agent was polite and said one car could park free overnight. He gave me a card with a QR code to register my vehicle. The page said $33 would be charged to my room, but I assumed that would be waived based on what he'd told me. A few days later, I saw the $33 charge and that my $100 deposit hadn't been returned. When I called for a manager, the woman who took the call was rude and kept interrupting, so I ended it and called back the next day. Another employee took my details, said she'd ask her manager to call, and suggested my bank had already released the deposit. My bank said I should have received it and couldn't see anything from Sheraton. On another call I was sent to voicemail, then waited about 10 minutes after asking for the manager on duty. A different woman said the deposit should arrive soon and then hung up on me. My bank later explained that the deposit had simply fallen off. The hotel's system wouldn't show a charge being taken and returned, while the $33 parking charge did show. Nobody at the hotel had explained this. My banker, who doesn't work at Sheraton, had to tell me how their system works. Staff need much better training and communication. I shouldn't have been charged for parking, and I should have received a refund for it.
