Ramada by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port

The restaurant had a small menu, but the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was good. Breakfast was the same every day, though, and got boring after more than a day. The rooms are nice and spacious, even if the place looks like a motel. The bathrooms are small and have no exhaust, so we had to wait a while after someone used one. Overall, it's a good place to stay with family.

The pool area out back was the one bright spot: the water was clean and the setting was nice. The hotel itself was disappointing for the price. From the street it looked much dirtier than the photos, and inside our room had a strange smell and a disgusting carpet that seemed like it had never been replaced. I wouldn’t stay again at that rate. It felt worth about $55, not $100. A new carpet, a good paint job, and making the place look and smell better could make a difference. Also, get the parking card from the front desk. I said I had a car when the guy asked, but he didn’t give me anything, and the next morning there was a tow warning sticker on my window for illegal parking.

For a budget motel, I thought this deserved five stars. The beds and sheets were comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the airport and cruise port shuttle was free. Breakfast was simple but good, with probably the best scrambled eggs and sausage we’ve had at a continental breakfast. The pool looked a bit green, though I’ll let that go since there had just been a huge storm and flooding. The price was good, and I didn’t have any complaints worth mentioning. You get what you pay for.

It did the job for a cheap night before our cruise. The free breakfast and shuttle were nice extras, and the staff were helpful, though not especially personable. Our room was clean, but it could use some updates. It was okay, and you get what you pay for here.
