Towneplace Suites By Marriott Danville

For a business trip where I just needed a spot to work on the computer for a couple hours and sleep, the extra cost of the "4 star hotel" wasn't worth it. I stayed at both this place and the IHG next-door this week. The IHG and the Mariott rooms are about the same size and have the same beds, while the Mariott costs more. My shower was cold, there was no trash bag in the bathroom, and the suite felt kind of cramped. The front desk seemed nice enough, and the lobby was nice. They have a pool and other stuff that could be nice for families. Save your money and go to the IHG next-door.

I booked from the 19-25, but was only there from the morning of the 20 until the night of the 24. I was charged from the 18 until the 25. At check-in they told me I'd be reimbursed for the charge on the 18, but I'm not getting that money back. Their policy says they can keep it. I travel often for work and stay around 25 nights/year in Danville, so it's good there are other hotels nearby.

The bed was comfy, and the room had a full kitchen. There were two adjustable thermostats, one in each room, and the showers got very hot. They also provided all name brand products.

The room came with a full size fridge, dishes, a dishwasher and stove top, and the pool was open and clean with plenty of towels. Breakfast was good too. The rooms were clean and accommodating, and the staff were friendly during our weekday stay. A couple of things could be better: using the washer and dryer cost $2 each per load, and I still had to run the dryer twice. The pool area could also use a garbage can.
