Sunrise Inn On The Beach

We liked it enough to add another night after arriving Friday, since the rate was affordable. The staff were a big part of that. They answered our questions and were happy to do me favors, and they made an effort to keep us comfortable. Our room was spotless when we arrived, including the bathroom, sink area, and beds. Housekeeping left no sign they’d been in. The pool water looked beautiful and stayed clean, too. I’d stay here again, why not?

I spent the 4th of July weekend here and had a great experience. The place was clean, the pool was clean, and there was plenty of parking. You can walk from the hotel to the beach, so there’s no need to park down there. Prices are reasonable compared with other places, and the customer service was great. I hadn’t realized they had kitchenette rooms or allowed dogs. I’ll definitely be back this year.

There was garbage and someone else’s stuff under the beds in both rooms we saw. The first room had dirty floors and paper-thin walls. When we asked for a refund, they offered either half our money back or an ocean-view room. We checked that room out, but it also had trash under the beds and smelled like cigarettes, even though the rooms are supposed to be smoke-free. The staff were friendly, and being right on the beach was great, but they need to hire people who actually clean.

The ocean view is unforgettable, and parking wasn’t a problem at all. We stayed 6 nights, 7 days at Sunrise Inn, and I’d come back, though I think we may have been lucky with our room. After reading the reviews, I was wary and even had a backup place in mind. Check-in was easy, and the woman in the office was extremely nice. It’s clearly no Hilton, but our room was very spacious and had tile instead of the carpet I’d read complaints about. The beds are on the firm side, so bring padding if that bothers you. The AC got very cold, the shower had good pressure and temperature, and all the appliances and locks worked for us. Towels could use an update, and we did a little extra cleaning ourselves, but it wasn’t a big deal. Our room didn’t smell of smoke or mold. The pool was nice, and there’s coffee in the office in the morning.
