Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - De Pere/Green Bay

The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful, and we thought the restaurant food was very good, though the portions were far too small for the high price. In the room, cold air came from one side of the register and hot air from the other. When we asked about it, the desk just told us to turn up the heat. The worst part was the pool the next morning. It was my 21-month-old daughter’s first hotel stay, and she’d been so excited to swim. She got dressed in her bathing suit, her mom inflated her new float, and she hurried downstairs, only to find poop floating in the water. Staff closed the pool after we told them, which was understandable, but she was heartbroken. We were told they couldn’t do anything for us because we’d booked through Expedia. That was pretty disappointing.

Breakfast wasn’t very good, so it was nice to be able to walk 1.2 miles across the bridge to Hashery for a decent meal. I picked this hotel for a football game at Lambeau and thought it was a good value compared with similar hotels. It’s about 3-4 miles away. After the game, I got back to the hotel in 17 minutes, and on the way there I’d reached the stadium parking lot 14 minutes after leaving the hotel. Traffic was mild compared with other NFL stadiums, so I don’t think it’s worth paying extra to stay within a mile or two of the stadium.

We really liked being able to walk from the hotel to the Fox River and St. Norbert’s College, with lovely views and places to explore along the way. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. They were especially accommodating when my husband and I asked about which floor and room we could have.

The beds were much too soft, and the breakfast room felt small, though the food selection was adequate. The hotel is modern and clean, with handy amenities like a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. I especially liked the complimentary Starbucks coffee bar that’s open 24/7. It’s also close to St Norbert College, a few shops, and restaurants.
