The Lodge at Deadwood Gaming Resort

The Deadwood Trolley stops here twice an hour, which is handy if you don't want to drive and park in Deadwood. It's $2 a ride. We came with a group and really enjoyed the place. The service was especially good: I was late to breakfast one morning and they'd started cleaning up, but they still accommodated me with smiles. Our first-floor room had a back door to a nice patio, a fridge and microwave, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and hangers. The restaurant was fine, and we ate there 2 or 3 times. Our group banquet was very good too. I'd definitely stay again.

I had 5 Labradors with me on a short work trip, and there were no issues at all. They're super pet friendly, with lots of pet relief areas. We got a first-floor room with one door into the hallway by the casino and another out to the parking area, which made unpacking and taking the dogs out easy. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend.

Our first-level king room had a walkout, which made parking and getting to the vehicle easy. It was clean and more than adequate, with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The shower started out a bit cold, but we learned it warmed up after about 5ish minutes.

The pool and hot tub were the biggest letdown for me. The pool was very cold and seemed set up for kids, not really adult friendly, and the jets in the hot tub worked poorly. Still, the location was perfect, the staff were friendly, and there were plenty of elevators and bell hop carts for bringing things in and out. My husband and I stayed here on our second and third nights heading west, May 17 and 18, and checked out May 19, 2026. It snowed, so we stayed two days instead of one. You're right across from Tatanka Story of Bison center, less than five minutes from historic Deadwood, and in the black hills with gorgeous views. Even with a casino in the hotel, the rooms were very quiet and good for sleeping. They offer 24/7 coffee, plus an in-house restaurant and bar serving some food. The food seemed a little expensive for its quality to me. As a smoker, I asked where smoking was allowed. It would've been nice if staff had known to point out the covered, heated smoking area with piped-in music just outside the casino. That's my main complaint, and I still give it five stars.
