DoubleTree by Hilton Deerfield Beach Boca Raton

The room had plenty of counter space, a couple of extra seats, and room to work on a laptop. The bed was fine, the AC was cold, and the bathroom was a comfortable size. It felt safe and nice overall. There was some hallway noise, the water pressure was okay, and the pillows were a bit floppy. Getting here from 95 was easy, though I hit traffic on the final exits coming from the north.

The housekeeping staff were phenomenal. During our four nights, whenever I asked for towels or a trash bag, I was met with a smile. Whoever was working floor 7 on March 2 needs a raise, so kind and pleasant. There was no microwave in the room, and both irons we were given were broken. They never brought a working one, which was ridiculous given what we paid. Aside from that iron problem, the stay was decent.

The whole staff has made our wedding weekend stay a wonderful experience. Even with the hotel full and everyone busy with other guests, Ja’Kwan personally went out of his way to take care of my fiance and me beyond anything we could have asked for. We couldn’t be happier. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a special stay, especially if Ja’Kwan is looking after you.

The little hassles kept piling up, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Of all the hundreds of Hilton properties I’ve stayed in over the years, this ranks among my worst experiences. I’ll probably stay somewhere else in the area next time. My wife and I were in Deerfield Beach to care for my elderly father, so convenience mattered. The rate was roughly twice its usual price and about the same as nearby choices like the Hampton Inn across the street. I’m a Hilton Diamond member and understand dynamic pricing, but the value wasn’t there. We were also charged $16 a night, with taxes, to park in a large open lot. We’ve stayed here before without a parking fee, and nearby hotels, including other Hilton properties, don’t charge either. Paying for a suburban lot felt excessive and insulting. When we arrived around 7:30 PM, nobody was at the front desk, so we had to wait to check in. The room smelled odd, the thermostat was set to 64 degrees, and it stayed freezing. There was no complimentary lobby coffee, and breakfast wasn’t included. The $15 food credit we received as Diamond members was basically useless for two people: you had to sit down in the restaurant, and it wouldn’t even cover two cappuccinos.
