Economy Inn & Suites

The staff were nice, but we couldn’t get past the smell in the rooms. The pictures are misleading, which is a shame because I like the creativity of the themed rooms. For the price, this wasn’t at all what we expected. It was overpriced, not clean, and disappointing. I don’t think we’ll get the refund we were promised.

The housekeeper was the one bright spot. He was a really sweet guy and did everything he could to help, and he deserves better working conditions. The rest of our stay at Economy Inn in Denton was horrible. We found German cockroaches in the first room, and what looked like sewage or fecal matter backed up through the bathtub drain. When we asked to move because of those unsanitary conditions, the staff member was dismissive and had a terrible attitude instead of apologizing or helping promptly. They moved us across the inn to a room with a working bathroom, but it was full of roaches too, so it seems to be a property-wide problem. The hotel is disgusting, the staff were incredibly rude, and there are serious health concerns and very poor customer service. Do not book here.

The night clerk was okay. We got a last-minute room, and it was hot when we walked in. The AC didn’t cool it down until late at night. There were two live cockroaches in the bathroom and one dead in the tub. The mattress was hard as a rock and lopsided.

I’m still trying to reach the motel owner or manager because we were charged for two nights when we didn’t even stay one. Please call me back. My information is in your system. We only booked because it was the last place with rooms available, and now we know why. My son has severe asthma, so I waited in the foyer while my husband checked the room. We couldn’t stay because of the smell. The young woman who helped us Friday night was very nice and understanding. She said they’d cancel the reservation and we wouldn’t be charged. We returned the key to room 255 and asked if we needed to sign anything. She said no, that was all. But we never got a refund. When I called back today, the older woman who answered was rude from the start. She said she was the person working, though she wasn’t, and claimed we never showed up. There are cameras all over that can verify what happened. Do not stay here if you don’t have to.
