La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Denver Airport DIA

We were stuck in Denver overnight and they had rooms available. The room was quite nice for the price, and there were food places and convenience stores within walking distance. Their airport shuttle was timely and efficient in both directions. We asked for a 3 p.m. checkout since our flight wasn’t scheduled until 5:30 p.m., and that worked out very nicely.

The staff were great and friendly, and the woman at the desk really helped calm my anxiety during check-in. I’d read reviews mentioning a sewer smell, but we didn’t notice anything foul when we arrived, just the occasional smell of weed or smoke. The walls are thin, so you hear a lot. The hotel also looks like it’s falling apart, with patch jobs showing. Even so, it was a very nice stay for an affordable place to rest your head.

The room was clean, the bed was VERY comfortable, and I slept so well. The airport shuttle was super efficient both ways, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful. The courtesy checkout at noon was a big help, too. I had a really pleasant stay. Five stars!

The lobby and front desk look beautiful, but the rest of the hotel feels dingy, and the elevator was absolutely disgusting. My room was okay, showing some age but good enough. The key wouldn’t open the door, so I had to haul all my luggage back downstairs to get one that worked, which was a pain. The front desk guy wasn’t rude, just kind of odd and not very personable. And paying $10 to park seems ridiculous.
