The Cruise Room beside the lobby has real 1930s Art Deco character. It feels like an authentic classic bar, not a themed set, and the Oxford itself has plenty of charm. Everyone on staff we met was pleasant and helpful. I also liked that daily room cleaning is still included as standard service. The location is hard to beat: right by Union Station, so you can park once and walk around. There are great choices within a block, including ramen, a Brazilian steakhouse, and seafood, and the 16th Street Mall is a short walk down the street. They also have a local shuttle, useful in LoDo since light rail doesn't reach everywhere. We met friends here, and they immediately asked how we'd found the place. It's a distinctive, walkable Denver stay with attentive service, not a generic chain.

The hotel's own Speakeasy was my favorite part. Service was helpful, and the staff gave us suggestions for places to visit since it was our first time in Denver. The Doorman was fun and helpful too. It's an old hotel, but it still has plenty of amenities. The old-world decor was beautiful, and the Christmas decorations made it spectacular. Our room had the same older style and was still lovely. I'm a Travel Agent, and The Oxford will definitely be my go-to for clients visiting Denver.

We'd stayed at The Oxford before and have always thought it was a lovely hotel, so I was disappointed by the service after this visit. My daughter and her boyfriend had booked a New Year's Eve room, but both came down with the flu and couldn't use it. The hotel wouldn't refund or credit them. My wife and I used the room instead so the booking wouldn't go to waste, and the stay itself was fine. About an hour after checkout, I realized I'd left my headphones behind. I called, and the hotel said they'd check with housekeeping and let me know. I called again a few hours later and was told they were still waiting to hear back. The next day, I got the same answer. Three days later, I still haven't heard whether they found them. They weren't expensive, so the money isn't the point. I work in hospitality too, and if someone called about a missing item an hour after checkout, I'd send someone up to look and call them back right away. That clearly didn't happen. My credit card was also charged $284 on top of what my daughter had paid. They said it was for the cancellation, even though the booking was never cancelled, and that most would be refunded, minus about $80 for lodging fees, taxes, and so on. I was surprised those weren't charged with the room payment. They said this was standard procedure, but the charge was still there at the time of writing. Update: It looks like they're finally removing the extra charges. I still haven't heard from the hotel.

The architecture and their own Speakeasy made this place special, and it also has modern amenities. Being close to the train station and everything else was ideal. The front desk team and Doorman were wonderful. I'm a Travel Agent and would recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Denver.

If I could rate this hotel zero, I would. I was in town for work and chose it for the location, which was a bad call. I planned to stay four nights but left after one. In heavy rain, valet didn't bring out my bags, and the staff were very rude. When I asked about checking out early, I was told it was fine and there'd be no extra charge. Now I see two separate charges, one for the first night and another for the three nights I didn't stay. I called and spoke to Andrew, who was completely rude and had no customer service. He said his team would never have told me that and basically called me a liar. Why would I check out if I knew I'd be charged for all the nights? I would have just put up with it. He said he spoke to the man who gave me that assurance, and that the man didn't remember the conversation. Convenient, if you ask me. I wonder if he remembers telling me the hotel was racist and I should leave. The temperature in the hotel was awful too. It was freezing, and there was a two-inch gap under the door that let in a ridiculous draft. I had to put a towel there for privacy and comfort.
