Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Lakes

The location is hard to beat, with everything within walking distance, and the staff are nice. The rooms were clean and the beds were decent. The pool is about the size of a hot tub. We could hear the neighboring room’s entire conversation through the paper thin walls, especially at 2 AM, and the pillows were terrible. Nothing over the top.

The staff are friendly, and the room and facilities were clean and well maintained. There’s a nice range of hot and cold choices at the free breakfast. The hotel is next to Detroit Lakes City Park, where the Alexa troll is, and both great restaurants and the lake are a short walk away.

The staff are outstanding, especially the morning breakfast gal. What a gem! We don’t always get the room we reserved when we arrive. This last time, that meant paying to rent a whole second room we shouldn’t have needed.

Shirley M. made breakfast feel like visiting with an old friend, and she and my 14 yo grandson even struck up a little friendship. She’s a treasure and made our trip brighter. The hotel is in a fantastic location, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful.
