Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dickinson

We were here a few nights because of the weather. Magnolia and Opal, if I’ve got her name right, were wonderful. They welcomed us, chatted with us, and helped us figure out what the weather might do. The rooms are nice, there are lots of TV channels, and breakfast was plentiful. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We moved to another hotel after a frustrating stay. Our son plays college baseball, so we’ve stayed in plenty of hotels over the years, but this was the first that thoroughly disappointed us. Our flight was cancelled, as happens fairly often these days, and Ms. Magnolia refused to credit us for the night because we’d booked through a third party. IHG told us that decision was up to the hotel, and that she could have issued the credit but chose not to. We’re waiting to hear from corporate. My husband is an IHG Rewards member and spoke with Ms. Opal, who was lovely. We also had a do not disturb placard on the door, yet every morning at 8:45 someone knocked to ask if we needed housekeeping.

The pool and water slide were a big hit with our kids, and there were nearby places to grab dinner. We were glad to have breakfast before getting back on the road. This was a great stop on our holiday road trip out west. The receptionist was very welcoming to us and our young daughters, and the room and amenities were clean.

Magnolia Andrews made me feel incredibly welcome through her personal touch and level of service. If every business had people like her, the world would be stronger, happier, and better. I wish they could clone her!
