OYO Hotel Doswell Kings Dominion

Being able to look at the room before paying was actually helpful. If it hadn't been satisfactory, I wouldn't have needed to argue for a refund after deciding not to stay. Check-in happens inside the truck stop, which feels odd, but this is a truck stop motel. It's very close to Kings Dominion, too. I did see the reported roaches, though the sheets and blankets were clean and had no bed bugs. You get what you pay for.

It was quiet and felt fairly safe, and the price was affordable. The room seemed okay for the cost and for being near Kings Dominion. But the roaches were ridiculous, honestly embarrassing. We couldn't find another place at the last minute, so we stayed and hung all our stuff up. Note to myself: trust that first instinct.

The hotel was quiet and not crowded, and the owner was cool. We had no problems during our stay for a trip to Kings Dominion. The service was good, our room was clean, and the water pressure was amazing. There's also a great Hispanic restaurant a block away. I'd definitely try the platter.

We ended up switching to this company after the other place we booked on booking.com had no rooms available, and this one was farther away. We asked to cancel in time, but the company says it will still charge a fee even though nobody will be using the room. They don't reply promptly, either. No one picked up when we called, and we sent messages through booking.com. This is meant for union workers traveling around, but I wouldn't recommend it to union members or families visiting the area. We'll dispute the charges because we don't like how the company is handling this.
