Sleep Inn & Suites Dothan Area

The comfortable bed was the one redeeming part of our stay. This place needs serious attention. It’s fairly easy to reach from the main highway through Dothan, and my husband handled check-in without complaining about the service. He did say the men’s bathroom was disgusting, with visible human feces. There was a moldy smell throughout from the moment we walked in. They’d made some changes in our room, putting LVP throughout and tile in the bathroom, but left the rusted, rotting wall beside the shower unrepaired. Cleanliness was subpar at best. I know it’s just somewhere to sleep, but it all matters. No one wants to smell mold, see dirty, hairy corners in the bathroom, or put their things on a dusty vanity when all they want is a hot shower. Sorry, Sleep Inn.

I’m writing this from a Comfort Inn bed, and I stay at Choice hotels pretty often. This one was a letdown. The room had dirt on the walls, splashes on the microwave, and grime on the bathroom floor. There was also a strange smell, sort of clean but still unpleasant, like something had died and bleach was used to clean it up. I’d heard the hotel was supposed to be fully remodeled in September, but our room didn’t look that way. We pass through Dothan on trips to and from Florida, and won’t stay here again.

The bed was quite comfortable, but the room could have been cleaner. The floors didn’t seem mopped, and the shower is really slippery, so watch your step getting in. Breakfast was all right if you need something in a pinch. I’d choose somewhere else next time.

The front desk woman was so kind and helpful, which was the bright spot. We were in the room for less than half an hour. The floor hadn’t been swept, there was a roach in the bathroom, and my parents’ second room smelled like wet socks. The beds looked like we’d need to sleep on top of the covers. Outside, drunk men were being loud and swearing in the parking lot. I’m trying to get a refund through Booking.com, but I’ll have to see what happens.
