South Pier Inn

Even in winter, the bay views were wonderful, and the hotel is right by all the fun at Canal Park. It’s a beautiful place in a perfect location. We also enjoyed the fresh-baked breakfast, high ceilings, spa tub, and other amenities. The service was excellent. I highly recommend it.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here with our family of three, and it was such a lovely getaway. Our Executive Suite had a perfect view of the harbor and Bentleyville all lit up. The room was so clean I didn't even use one of the Lysol wipes I always bring to hotels. Marjorie, who was on the night shift, had hot cocoa cups all ready with extra toppings on the side, such a nice thing on a cold day. She also checked which restaurants might be open on Christmas by looking them up and calling around for us. That was above and beyond. The guy on the day shift was really nice too. The hotel is cute, in a great spot, and wonderful all around. Almost too good to tell people about, haha!

We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The continental breakfast was a nice light option, and we liked having a microwave, fridge, and sink so we could bring back breakfast items. There were thoughtful extras in the room, including binoculars and a fascinating book about the huge ships on the Great Lakrs. The boat watching is fantastic, and they'll even call to let you know when one is coming if you want. We also appreciated being able to choose daily housekeeping with those magnetic notices for early, late, or no service. Brilliant idea. One of the most memorable places my wife and I have stayed.

Ship watching was a real highlight, and the hotel can call you when one is about to come through. Our executive suite was clean, had a great view, and was in a great location. I was impressed by all the little things in the room: an umbrella, extra pillows and blankets, books, binoculars, and even a shoehorn. You can tell they put thought into it. Breakfast had plenty of good choices for a quick bite, too. I can't say enough good things, we'll definitely come back.
