Residence Inn by Marriott Duluth

The hotel was well maintained, and it showed. The rooms were comfortable, breakfast was good, and everyone was so nice. The HVAC could use improvement since the fans are very loud. We enjoyed our stay and would come back if we’re in the area.

We travel a lot and usually stay at Marriott hotels. This was the one we booked for a weekend in Duluth, and I’m glad we chose it. It was easy to get to, in a good area, and had lots of amenities. A kind young man greeted us and got us checked in right away. We were in our room within 10 minutes of checking in. I’d asked for extra pillows, and he already had them waiting when we came back in from getting our bags out of the car. The room was spacious and very clean, and the hotel was clearly well maintained. Breakfast had lots of choices, and everything was hot and fresh. The breakfast area was clean and neatly laid out, with plenty of lobby seating for eating there. There are ice makers in the room refrigerators, but they also offer bags of ice free if your fridge hasn’t made any yet or is taking too long. We had to cut the trip short by a day and go home. The staff accommodated us and didn’t charge for the last night, even though we’d booked it before arriving. I’d recommend this hotel 10 out of 10. We’d looked at a lot of other options, and I’m glad we stayed here.

The overnight front desk staff on 1/8/26 was helpful when dealing with inconsiderate guests. People were having “meetings” in the hallway, and you could hear everything. The doors slam loudly, and the rooms are dated with gross tubs. I highly recommend TownSuites instead. It’s much more updated and quieter, for the same room price through the Marriott app. I chose this place only to compare rooms between the two hotels, and it’s safe to say I won’t be back.

The room was huge, and I slept really well in the comfortable bed. The pool was spacious but pretty cold, while the hot tub was warm and very nice. The empty body wash was a letdown, and breakfast was probably the saddest I've had at a hotel. It wasn't worth getting up for, so I went with four stars.
