Hampton Inn by Hilton Dunn

We arrived late, got in, showered, and went to sleep. Breakfast in the morning was amazing as usual, and the staff were wonderful. The rooms were clean. When we travel, we make a point of staying only at Hampton Inns.

Staff were friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hot breakfast was just right. I missed having a microwave in the room, but there was a fridge and space to store snacks. Pets are welcome, with an outdoor area for them and a place to put used poop bags. Parking worked well for our truck and 40-foot trailer, which we left along the side. A wonderful place to stay!

My stay in Dunn, NC came up unexpectedly, but this hotel made it easier. They welcomed my pet and me, treated us both well, and even spoiled the dog with biscuits. The rooms were super clean, the customer service was fantastic, including the night crew, and breakfast was filling. The coffee was good for hotel coffee, and the noon checkout worked well for us. I'd recommend stopping here for the night.

I use Hilton regularly and am a Gold member, so I was very disappointed by this overnight stop on our drive from Miami to Washington, DC. Parking was chaotic: most spaces were taken, and people in the neighboring restaurant's guest spots were using one and a half spaces. Check-in took far too long. A woman ahead of us waited in line for two minutes before the clerk started helping her, then we waited at least another five before our turn. The hotel is dated, and our bathroom was very dirty, with what looked like crumbs on the floor and shower glass that seemed not to have been cleaned in ages. There was a lot of mildew and mold in the shower. The sink had almost no water pressure, though the shower pressure and temperature were good. The bed was clean and fairly comfortable, and everything in the bedroom worked. The bathroom outlet was loose, so the hairdryer plug kept falling out if the cord moved, and the GFI tripped every time I tried to turn it on. While I showered in the morning, my partner went to get breakfast and another guest set off the fire alarm by burning toast. An hour later, firefighters were still there, the elevators weren't working, and the front desk clerk was alone and clearly overwhelmed trying to deal with the guests, firefighters, and elevator problem. I felt bad for her. Management needs to pay more attention to this location. There are dozens of places along I-95 for a night stop, and we won't stay here again.
