The Mountain View really did have a mountain view! It was nice staying somewhere new and clean. The breakfast selection had plenty of variety and hit the spot. My door seemed to slam instead of close, but there were no major problems.

The location is excellent, the staff were friendly and professional, and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast was okay. Still, we’ll try somewhere else next time. The place felt sparse and a little soulless for the price, with very few amenities. We got paper cups, daily service wasn't provided unless requested, maybe, and even the few pieces of artwork seemed like a cheap afterthought. The hotel is shiny and new, but felt no-frills. The pool was the biggest issue. Several staff members said it might not open until August, and it isn't actually there, despite the pool photo in the Google Maps hotel overview. That's misleading. Had we known, we'd have stayed elsewhere. We were told the new Marriott and Hampton Inn will eventually share the pool. Parking costs $15 per night. That's not outrageous, but there really isn't an alternative, since street parking is very time limited or nonexistent. There are several other hotels crammed at the end of 2nd Avenue, and another adjoining hotel is due to open soon. They also charged a $100 damage deposit at check-in. It was credited back within several days, but that seemed excessive compared with other properties. This is a new hotel, as other reviews mention.

I was here for business, and they always cleaned my room and left my things neat. The lovely lady at breakfast in the morning is such a delight.

At 7:50 p.m., they were still working on the AC, and the room was 83F. I was very disappointed with this Hilton stay. They shouldn't be operating until construction is finished and the rooms are fully furnished.
