The Junction Hotel and Hostel

The two people at the front desk were very nice. They brought us two extra pillows and were kind at checkout. The price was reasonable, but the overall stay wasn’t good. Our room looked nothing like the online pictures, and the doors and appliances were old and worn. We requested a first-floor room but didn’t get one. I’m pregnant and high risk, and we had an elderly dog who could barely manage the stairs, so going up and down every day was difficult. The thin walls and windows made sleep hard. Our neighbors got back at 3:30 AM and partied until after 7 AM. The AC barely worked, so we cracked the window and then heard traffic and homeless people yelling at night. There’s no breakfast or coffee in the room. If you want those, this isn’t the place. I’d save the money for a nicer hotel or keep going to Pagosa.

The staff were wonderful, some of the nicest and most pleasant people I could ask for. The rooms were clean, but we stayed two days and got no housekeeping at all, and there was very limited housekeeping generally. The fresh paint around the facility didn’t hide neglected maintenance: peeling paint, broken doors, clogged plumbing, no coffee makers in our rooms, and no continental breakfast. Nobody was on site after 2130. The vending machines were old, and the ice machine was broken and missing parts. At almost $125. a night, this place costs at least twice what seems reasonable. It’s a $50. a night facility at best. It doesn’t really suit families or people with standards.

Collin, the General Manager, went above and beyond to make sure I had a good stay. I was there for over a week and enjoyed it. The location and value were great, and I was always greeted with a smile at the front desk. Thank you!

We had to cancel our vacation after losing a loved one. The hotel declined our refund request without asking for verification or showing any understanding of what had happened. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but the business should understand where its policies may need improvement.
