Budget Host Inn Eagan

Ryan went out of his way to help when I lost my phone last night. He called around trying to track it down and eventually found it. The hotel is run by Ryan and Tara, and they were both an absolute pleasure to be around. Fantastic people and great customer service. Thanks for all the care, I really appreciate it.

There's not much parking, and the shower head hung so low it seemed meant for someone four feet tall. The room smelled like a cigar had been left inside with the doors shut. After flushing, I saw a cigar butt in the toilet, and there was another one outside. The guy quoted me 65 over the phone, then charged 75 ten minutes later.

The location is great, and I didn't see any cockroaches, so that earned it a second star. It's a very rundown place, though. There was no shampoo or soap in the room, so bring your own or buy some at the office. The doors looked like they'd been kicked in a few times, with gaps where you could see outside around them. Towels were gray and thin from years of use, and the window AC was extremely loud. They also require a $50 cash deposit, so I had to find an ATM and come back to check in. One star for being a step above sleeping in the car.

We checked in December 23, and I wish I'd read the reviews before booking online. The bathroom window was wide open in freezing weather. A guy covered it with plastic, and we left to meet family, so we didn't discover the rest until we got back. There was no TV, roaches in the cable box, and no hot water. The shower pipe had rags stuffed around it, caulking stuck up around the tub drain, and the whole bathroom was filthy. Without hot water, I would've been afraid to bathe there anyway. The website photos showed phones in the rooms, but ours had none. It could easily have ruined our Christmas weekend. I can't say enough bad things, and I can't believe anyone would give this place more than one star. Do I even have to give it a star? I'd give zero if I could.
