Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center

The staff were friendly, and the State Room was good, but the stay was a rough fit for my conference trip. I called ahead to check that the garage had a working EV charger before bringing a work vehicle. They said a Level 2 charger on the lobby floor was available. I arrived with 7% battery and found it out of service, apparently for at least a month. At the desk, I was told MSU owns the chargers and there wasn’t much the hotel could do. The room felt like a small dorm, with a wet bath and HVAC that swung between too hot and too cold. Once you shower, the whole bathroom is wet, so do everything else in there first. I also thought the price was high for what was offered.

The room was among the cleanest places I’ve stayed, and the campus looked beautiful on an early fall day. The only room issue was the sink faucet, which sits so close to the basin bottom that it’s perplexing. That’s why I gave the room four stars. I was here for my company’s annual meeting this week, and the catered food and wait staff were absolutely excellent. They really know how to serve a meal. Thanks for a great time!

The bathroom is a little cramped, though it works fine. The room itself was very nice, and I had a great experience.

The unexpected $50 parking fee really brought down my rating. It wasn’t mentioned while booking or at check-in, so I only noticed it when the bill came. Parking is also about an eight-minute walk away, and I can’t see why it should cost that much. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were very nice, and the rooms were clean, though just okay otherwise. The pillows are tiny, so I’d want at least four on each bed. The location is excellent for getting to DC.
