I’m very picky about hotel rooms and check everything, from linens and towels to bed bugs, even at a five-star place. I had no issues here, and I would’ve said so right away if I had. The room was clean, I didn’t see any bugs, the bed was comfy, and I felt safe. If you’re looking for the Ritz, this isn’t it, but it’s decent and not pricey, with nice rooms and everything nearby. I was skeptical because of the reviews, but check-in was easy. Josh E was at the desk. He wasn’t super smiley, but he was nice and helpful. A lady with dark hair checked me out in the morning, and she was super cool. We had a great conversation while I waited for my Uber. I’d absolutely stay here again.
For a two-star hotel, this is great. The beds are extremely comfy, the coffee is good, Community Coffee brand, and nearly the whole staff is great. A few room hiccups were fixed by other staff with a can-do, will-do attitude. The exception is the third-shift guy. He’s as rude as he can get away with without getting fired, and he intentionally misdirects people about third-party bookings. He’s the only reason I took a star off. Hope the owner sees this.
The staff were friendly, and the hotel wasn’t very crowded, but there were some sketchy people around. The rooms were nicer and much cleaner than the nearby Motel 6 at a similar price, and the room didn’t set off my allergies like that other hotel did. The beds weren’t comfortable.
Honestly, I didn’t feel I was treated well by some of the women at the front desk. I went to get my card fixed, but one was disrespectful and had a bad attitude. She wouldn’t fix it because the information for two guests was in my husband’s name. My husband! We also had trouble with payment and the $100 deposit. He’d just had his ID renewed and it hadn’t arrived in the mail, so he didn’t have a hard copy. They accepted the first payment, then gave us a hard time when we renewed the room for another week. That felt very unprofessional. A bad storm came through, and after talking with a few other guests, we learned they hadn’t had problems, but we went without electricity from 11am until a little after dark. Instead of trying to make things better, staff treated us rudely and blamed me, saying I had a hairdryer plugged in. I don’t even own a hairdryer. It happened two more times, and they got mad at us for asking about getting back in. We were going on two weeks there mostly because it was convenient. When I asked housekeeping for clean sheets and towels, they said I had to get permission from the front desk. Just wanted to tell the truth, thank you. Hope your day wasn’t like ours.
The gentleman at the front desk was exceptionally polite, kind, and helpful with check-in. When I said my disability made writing difficult, he told me not to worry and offered to help. At signing, he placed the paper on the counter and held it steady for me without needing to be asked. Our room was a decent size. The beds were semi-comfortable, and the shower was huge, with room for more than one person. But the toilet seat didn’t fit the toilet, leaving a large gap at the front. We also couldn’t get the window shade positioned to stop people seeing into the room. For a place that’s newly renovated, it still needs work. See pictures. Our room was at the back, where the lighting should be better. Between the poor lighting and a group of guys outside smoking weed, it didn’t feel safe.
