Courtyard El Paso East/i-10

We only needed one night, and the room was clean, but the front desk service was disappointing for a $210-a-night, 3-star hotel. The employee didn't seem properly trained. He greeted us with, “What do you need?” and asked why we were in town. We said we had an appointment, but the question felt unnecessary. When we tried the Wi-Fi, we were told it was only for members, not guests. Very disappointing.

There isn't breakfast included, but the bar and bistro downstairs has lots of options if you're in a hurry, and plenty of sit-down restaurants are an easy 10-minute walk away. The rooms are modern and thoughtfully set up, with power outlets everywhere. I was wary of how close the hotel is to the freeway, but it seems newly built and the soundproofing worked. I slept like a baby and would stay again.

The rooms are *VERY* noisy despite how nice the place looks. Sound comes through the walls and vents from every direction, conversations, TVs, phones, toilets, everything. If you need somewhere quiet to rest, look elsewhere.

A HUGE COCKROACH was on the ceiling in my room when I got back from a long business day in the El Paso heat. I'd stayed at Courtyard El Paso East/I-10 before and chose it for the location, but never again. I grabbed my things and went to the front desk for another room. The night shift gentleman tried his best to help, and I don't think it was his fault, but I was disappointed by how the situation was handled. I doubt this was the first time they'd had this happen. The next morning I complained to manager Mejia. He said the room would be fumigated and I'd get extra bonvoy points, but I'd already checked out and still haven't received anything. I'd recommended this hotel to 5 other people for my business trip. Never again!
