Home2 Suites by Hilton El Paso Airport, TX

Jennifer was easily the best part of our stay. We hit a couple of small snags, and she jumped in right away, sorting things out with kindness, professionalism, and real care. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and get everything resolved smoothly, and our stay ended up absolutely perfect because of her. The hotel should recognize what an asset she is.

There’s a pool, a patio with a fire pit, and propane grills guests can use. The amenities are current and well maintained, and the staff are consistently nice and helpful. It’s a clean, fairly new hotel in a central spot, close to the airport, so it works especially well for a longer visit to El Paso. Breakfast is decent; my one complaint is the coffee, which isn’t good, though there’s a starbucks nearby. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone staying more than a night or two.

I won’t stay here again, though the woman at the front desk was very nice. My room smelled heavily of Lysol, while the bathroom had a strong mold or mildew smell. The hallway wallpaper looked like longhorns had trampled it, twice. None of the TV’s three HDMI inputs worked. Parking costs $10 a night on top of the room, with no covered parking, extra security, or other benefit. I don’t know how else people are expected to get to a hotel except by driving. Food can’t be delivered to your room, either. The elevators need a room key to work, and I assume both work, though only one was running during my visit.

The room was clean, we slept well, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The front desk agent who helped us with our trailer was so helpful that she came outside and walked us to a place where we could park. At checkout we met Frida Gonzalez, the Director of Sales, who was welcoming and engaging. My kids even found books in the lobby library to take along and enjoy on the drive home. We had a great experience from start to finish, and I’d definitely recommend it.
