Motel 6 El Paso, TX - Airport - Fort Bliss

The front desk young man was pleasant and helped me when I lost my key. I travel for work with my pets, and I like Motel Six's upfront price compared with other hotels, but stays with this chain can be hit or miss. This one was really uncomfortable for my pets. The floor was filthy: after my cat food spilled, a washcloth came up covered in dirt, and I hated having my cat and dog on it. There was plenty of bright, clean landscaping, but nowhere to walk the dog except behind the motel. When I went there at 7 PM, a stray dog appeared, so we ran back to the front. The bed was as hard as plywood. It sagged in the middle, which made it look like it might be soft, but it felt like a rock.

I booked online to get the best rate, and check-in was quick. The renovated room was very clean, with a small fridge, microwave, and a handy dining nook for dinner. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. It was quiet outside during my stay, with no unruly guests. There are restaurants, gas stations, and shops close by, some within walking distance, and the airport is only a few miles away. I enjoyed the stay and would come back if I'm in the area.

After driving more than 17 hours, I arrived exhausted and just wanted to sleep. At check-in, the key they gave me didn't work. I went back, explained politely, and asked for another. The staff were rude and disrespectful, offered no apology or solution, and simply told me to leave. After such a long trip, that treatment was shocking and unacceptable. I recorded part of the encounter and plan to share the video publicly so others can see how guests are treated. I strongly recommend against this hotel. I wouldn't stay here if you care about basic respect, kindness, or professionalism.

The shower rod was close to falling apart, the sheets were stained, and the room and hallways reeked of cigarettes. The halls looked like they hadn't been cleaned. We booked it for the pool, but it was green and dirty, so we couldn't use it. Honestly, it seemed like the owners didn't care. Never again.
