The Boundary Waters route Joan and Jim planned for us was challenging but manageable, and over our four days of canoeing and three nights camping, we got to experience a lot of what the area has to offer. We’re fairly experienced campers, though new to the Boundary Waters and not expert canoe handlers. Joan and Jim patiently answered our questions and stayed helpful and responsive from the first call through our return. We arranged for Moose Tracks to provide our gear and food, and the equipment was an 11 out of 10. The two top-end tents from Joan and Jim had no holes for mosquitoes to get in, and when it rained hard one night, we stayed dry. The three-person Kevlar canoe was in excellent shape. The rest of the gear was thoughtfully chosen and worked well, including the bear-hanging mechanism. The fire-starter was excellent too. We chose to go without a guide, but the value was well worth the price. Joan and Jim shared years of experience, good advice, and wisdom. They take their family-run business personally and really wanted us to have a great trip. They were warm and personable, and we’d highly recommend them for the Boundary Waters. You won’t be disappointed.

Joan and Jim made four Texas guys feel at home before we even left, and seeing Jim beam when we told him how much we loved the trip was one of my favorite moments. Our six-day, five-night outing with Moose Track Adventures felt like a trip of a lifetime. They were so accommodating and willing to help, and the family-run feel made us feel included from the start. They helped with everything, from route planning and equipment to meals, weather prep, and fishing. When the airline lost our luggage, they even helped us out with clothes. I can't imagine a more helpful outfitter. Thanks so much to Jim, Joan, and Moose Track Adventures. God bless, and we'll be back as soon as we can.

After six days and five nights in the Boundary Waters, the hot shower Moose Track Adventures had ready for us before the trip home was a welcome touch. The scenery, quiet, and natural beauty out there were amazing. Our group of six from Texas found everything organized and easy. Jim and Joan helped us plan a great route, supplied top-quality Kevlar canoes, Duluth packs, paddles, and PFDs, and arranged all transportation into and out of the BWCA. They know the area, were friendly, and gladly answered our questions with advice that made the trip smooth and memorable. We can't recommend Moose Track Adventures enough if you're planning a Boundary Waters trip. They went above and beyond throughout.

We weren't as active this time as on earlier trips, but the quiet and chance to relax were just what we wanted. We've stayed in a cabin at Moose Track Adventures resort three times over 15 years. When we aren't camping, we like a small, peaceful resort, and the lakefront cabins and views are lovely. The cabins have always been clean and well cared for. Jim and Joan also have plenty of good ideas for day trips. There's a road beside the resort, but it mostly leads to homes, a few resorts, and remote areas, so traffic is light. We paddled on the lake a couple of times and enjoyed swimming, especially from the swimming rafts. We also drove to Bear Head Lake State Park to bike north through the woods on the Mesabi Trail. Gorgeous trail.

Our cabin had a lovely view of Farm Lake and felt cozy. We spent a great day fishing with Nick, caught enough walleye for three meals, and had some left to share. The small town nearby meant no traffic and no stress, and we enjoyed our stay at Moose Tracks so much that we've already booked for next year. Thanks, Jim and Joan!
